Abercrombie & Fitch to open first Dutch store in Amsterdam

American retailer Abercrombie & Fitch is to open its first Dutch store in Amsterdam the Netherlands.

The young fashion label launched its first European flagship near London’s Saville Row four years ago, and last May opened a flagship store in France on Paris’ Champs-Elysées.

The company said it plans to open three more of its flagship Abercrombie & Fitch stores this year in Dusseldorf, Brussels and Singapore on top of the two new stores already opened in Paris and Madrid. Amsterdam, Munich and Hamburg will open in 2012.

The company indicated in its most recent conference call it is planning to close 60 to 65 mediocre performing U.S. stores this year when the leases for the stores expire, but indicated it is only planning to add 45 new stores in Europe.

When and where exactly the store opens its doors in Amsterdam is unknown.
