Amsterdam is on the world stage Sunday night when it hosts the anniversary edition of the MTV European Music Awards at the stunning new Amsterdam Ziggo Dome.
This year, the MTV EMA celebrates its 20th anniversary. The international music event of the year takes place in the historic Dutch city of Amsterdam, at the brand-new cutting-edge venue the Ziggo Dome. And it’s bound to be bigger, better, and more EMAzing than ever!
The line-up for the “2013 MTV EMA” is incredible, with some of this year’s biggest musical acts added to the bill! Miley Cyrus and chart-topper Robin Thicke will be among the big-name performers at the show. Katy Perry, Bruno Mars and The Killers, legendary Snoop Dogg and world famous DJ/producer Afrojack will all be performing at the “2013 MTV EMA,” which will broadcast live Sunday, November 10th at 9:00PM CET* from Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome.
The “intergalactic MC” of the show will be LMFAO star Redfoo with backstage host Ariana Grande and Will Ferrell will promote Anchorman 2 by providing backstage hosting work as Ron Burgundy. Singer/songwriter Ellie Goulding, singer/actress Carice van Houten (Game of Thrones) and Colton Haynes (Arrow, Teen Wolf) will be among award presenters.
Detroit rapper Eminem has been named a last-minute addition to the bill at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Amsterdam. MTV will honour Eminem with the Global Icon award at the 2013 EMA ceremony! Eminem has 13 EMA wins – more than any other artist.
Two-time EMA winner and 2007 host Snoop Dogg makes a triumphant return to the show, performing a special, funked-out rendition of “Gin and Juice,” joined by the 7 Days of Funk to commemorate the 20th anniversary of his seminal, record-breaking album Doggystyle. Snoop will be performing alongside Afrojack at a special MTV EMA event held at the popular Melkweg club in Amsterdam’s city center, and their sizzling performance will be beamed into the “2013 MTV EMA” broadcast for fans tuning in around the world.
