Canadian artist Avril Lavigne has announced that she will perform in Amsterdam this year, backing up the release of her fourth album.
She will play in the Amsterdam Heineken Music Hall (HMH) on September 13. Ticket sales starts Friday.
Lavigne was in the Netherlands three years ago. The singer is touring through Europe, following her fourth album, Goodbye Lullaby, which was released in March.
Lavigne first broke on to the music scene with 2002 album Let Go, which featured hits such as Losing Grip, Complicated, Sk8er Boi and I’m With You.
She then followed this up with Under My Skin and The Best Damn Thing which ensured that her skate-punk style received airtime up and down the country.
In recent years, Lavigne has branched out into other areas of entertainment, with a particular focus on acting and design.
It’s been a whirlwind journey for Lavigne, who says the thing she’s looking forward to most about releasing Goodbye Lullaby is getting the opportunity to hit the road and perform for her fans around the world. “My fans are hardcore,” Lavigne says.
