Dutch banks “safe”

While banks in many European countries are under severe pressure, The Netherlands does not directly have to worry about the position of Dutch banks.

Dutch banks have “negligible” exposure to bad sovereign debt and stress tests show they are prepared to withstand any downturn in the global economy, according to experts, state regulators and the banking sector in the Netherlands.

Europe’s sovereign debt woes have rattled global financial markets, and particularly confidence over French banks in recent weeks.
