Dutch consumer confidence drops again

The mood among Dutch consumer deteriorated again in March, after three months of stability and even marginal improvement according to Statistics Netherlands.

Consumers were slightly less confident about the economic climate in general in March compared to February. Consumers’ opinions on the economic situation over the next twelve months deteriorated most noticeably. They were also more pessimistic about the economic situation over the past twelve months, though to a lesser extent.

Consumers were also more negative about their own financial situation. And they thought the time was somewhat more unfavourable to buy expensive items, like furniture, washing machines or TV sets.
