Export of popular Dutch music has raised 50.2 million euros in 2008. That is 15 percent more than in previous years. This was reported by Buma Culture on Saturday.
Andre Rieu, Tiësto, Armin van Buuren and Ferry Corsten are the most important Dutch export products in 2007.
A number of Dutch DJ’s is strong in the foreign club network, such as; Laidback Luke, Marco V and Sander Kleinenberg.
In the rock genre Epica, Antillectual, Born from Pain, No Turning Back, Peter Pan Speed Rock and Within Temptation did well with performances abroad.
From the Dutch music export, 29.1 percent comes from copyright and related rights, 17.5 percent comes from the exploitation of recordings of Dutch artists abroad and over 53 percent of concerts and performances of Dutch artists abroad.
