Dutch still think in old currency

Seven years after the euro currency was introduced, 72 percent of the Dutch occasionally convert prices to the Dutch guilder.

Especially women are converting to the old currency, according to a research from Synovate who surveyed nearly a thousand Dutch people.

Four in ten people occasionally convert prices in cafes and restaurants and shopping. Almost half of women convert their daily groceries every now and then. Four in ten often do so.

Most people now to have grown accustomed to the European single currency. 43 percent of the women said fully comply with the Euro and 61 per cent among men. Young people have virtually no trouble with the European currency.
