Eating Amsterdam launches its Jordaan Food Tour

Eating Amsterdam announces the launch of its informative, fun, and – most importantly – delicious Jordaan Food Tour!

Amsterdam has many different reputations – from boasting one of the biggest museum collections in the world, to being home to Europe’s most infamous red light district. But what visitors may not know is that Amsterdam’s culinary scene is filled with rich flavors – starting from its traditional roots right through to its fascinating immigrant influences. And what better way to get to know a city than through its history, communities and food? Eating Amsterdam invites you to escape the tourists and join us for a stroll (and boat ride!) through one of Amsterdam’s most historic neighborhoods – the Jordaan!

The Jordaan District
The Jordaan neighborhood is the heart of Amsterdam, bustling with local life since the 1600s. Once a working-class neighborhood, it’s now a sought-a”er area full of specialty shops and great restaurants. Its network of stunning canals and historic buildings make it one of the city’s most beautiful districts to visit.

Visitors may not be familiar with the delicious diversity that the Amsterdam food scene has to offer. Eating Amsterdam Food Tours was created to take people away from the crowds and into an authentic, local neighborhood to discover the city’s best culinary treasures at places that locals cherish. “More than just a food tour,” we provide people with a taste of daily life and an opportunity to feel part of the fabric of the neighborhood, which few experience in this tourist capital.

Our 4-hour guided tour of this unique neighborhood takes in 12 food tastings at 7 authentic stops. Our guests will visit our favorite local haunts, meet the families working to keep these restaurants and shops as renowned today as they have been for decades, and experience first-hand the historical quirks that give Amsterdam its charm. What’s more, they’ll get the unparalleled opportunity to see the city from a unique viewpoint: by boat on Amsterdam’s famous, world heritage waterways.

Eating Amsterdam aims to give people a taste of Amsterdam they won’t soon forget by exposing them to real food, people and neighborhoods.
