In the third quarter of 2014, 3M Netherlands BV is scheduled to move from its current location in Zoeterwoude to the Technopolis Delft science park, on the campus of the Technical University of Delft. Construction has already started, with the official groundbreaking taking place this afternoon.
The choice of this location reinforces 3M’s core brand as a leading innovator: the science park is geared to strengthening and expanding the connections between organizations and customers, where the exchange of ideas is stimulated by the presence of an InnovationExperienceCenter, an auditorium, and meeting facilities.
In line with 3M’s sustainability strategy, the building is built and furnished with sustainable materials, and has also received a ‘Very Good’ BREEAM-NL certificate. The round building, whose façade will be built with innovative cold bendable tempered glass and will provide panoramic views, is fully designed by the architectural firm cepezed, and will be built by Cordeel Netherlands.
3M captures the spark of new ideas and transforms them into thousands of ingenious products. Its culture of creative collaboration inspires a never-ending stream of powerful technologies that make life better. 3M is the innovation company that never stops inventing. With global headquarters in the US and $30 billion in sales, 3M employs about 88,000 people worldwide and has operations in more than 70 countries.
