Good times keep rolling for Dutch trade

Despite the recession, the Dutch international trade continues to increase. Dutch exports in February were nearly four percent higher than a year earlier. Dutch imports increased by seven percent.

Statistics Netherlands says Dutch terms of trade of imported and exported goods improved in February 2012 compared to February 2011. Prices of exported goods were 3.9 percent higher, prices of imported goods rose by 3.4 percent. February is the fourth month in a row to show improvement.

Higher prices for natural gas and petroleum derivatives contributed most to the increase in export prices. Import prices of these products and import prices for crude oil were also higher than one year previously.
