Japanese whalers angry with the Netherlands

A Japanese whaling ship was attacked at sea by conservationists who sailed under the Dutch flag.

This reports the Japanese Institute for whale Research, an organization supported by the Japanese government who manage the whaling fleet sailors.

Smoke bombs and grappling hooks were used to attack the Japanese ship, which managed to escape after a confrontation in a little over half hours.

It was an action of Sea Shepherd, an international anti-whaling organization that does not avoid physical violence in its campaign.

The Sea Shepherd is headquartered in Amsterdam, and all the ships sail under the Dutch flag.

The Japanese Institute therefore calls on the Netherlands to cut down on all forms of support for Sea Shepherd.
