Joe Satriani coming to the Netherlands

Guitar hero Joe Satriani and Sonny Landreth are coming to the Netherlands. On October 29 the guitarists will play at the Rock and Roots Guitar Night.

Satriani is widely regarded as one of the best rock guitarists in the world. The 53-year-old musician guitar teacher, among others, Kirk Hammet and Metallica’s guitarist Steve Vai. In addition, he played with Deep Purple and Mick Jagger.

Landreth is considered one of the best slide guitarists and is often associated with artists like Mark Knopfler and Eric Clapton. Besides the two American guitar heroes, the event has more artists in store, but no names were disclosed.

Joe Satriani has been a worldwide guitar hero since his 1986 breakthrough album, Surfing With The Alien. Over 10-million albums and CD’s later, in addition to 13 Grammy nominations including for his latest studio release Super Colossal, Joe continues to push the envelope of modern rock guitar playing.

Last year, guitarist Gary Moore and Jan Akkerman performed on the Rock n Roots Guitar Night.

The show takes place in the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam. Ticket sales starts Friday.
