Karl Lagerfeld Opens Store in Amsterdam

Fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, the current creative director of Chanel, will open his first self-named boutique in Amsterdam.

The store will be located in Amsterdam at Hartenstraat number 16 and will be opened on April 25. The 150 square-meter concept store will have a similar interior as the store opened in Paris last February.

The store will be designed to embody the designer himself, decorated in black and white and featuring a unmistakable ponytailed silhouette on the back wall, viewable as soon as you enter the store.

Like Lagerfeld himself, the store welcomes modern technology with open arms, offering iPads and multimedia screens for the customers to fiddle around with, as well as fitting room photo booths which allow people to share images of themselves online when they’re all dressed up.

The first floor will focus on the woman with the latest prêt-à-porter collections, shoes, eyewear, accessories and unique gifts such as Lagerfeld’s favorite photography and design books. The ground floor is reserved for men collections.

Several concept stores will open their doors in a number of major European cities later this year, followed by stores in Asia.
