Rise in Number of Dutch People Living in Belgium

The number of Dutch people living in Belgium continues to rise.

According to the latest figures the number of Dutch people living in Belgium is now over 123,000.

In 2006 there were 111,000 people and fifteen years ago approximately 55,000 people.

The Dutch after the Italians and French are the largest foreign population in Belgium, according to figures from the Belgian government published on Tuesday.

Most Dutch people live near the border with the Netherlands.

One in ten people in Belgium are not Belgian and totaled over one million people on 1 January 2010.

In the age group between 30 to 34 years it’s even one in six.
