Long Lines, Happy Techies at New Amsterdam Apple Store

As expected, the newest Apple store opened Saturday March 3 in Amsterdam. The store’s 500 employees were greeted by a crowd of over 2000 people on hand for the grand opening.

Located on the busy Leidseplein in Amsterdam, the store is the first Apple store in the Netherlands and the company’s first retail venue in the Benelux. The first Apple store in the Benelux also gets the largest selection of products in the world.

The new Amsterdam Apple store, located at the Leidseplein, features an iconic glass spiral staircase that reportedly has cost over 100,000 euros.

The store also features the longest Genius Bar in the world. At the Genius Bar, visitors can talk with an Apple employee when they have questions or need hands-on technical support.

Eager customers lined up for the opening in the early morning. Apple staff were running and yelling at the grand opening of the Apple Store in Amsterdam Leidseplein.

Amazing to see al the staff running towards the lines at the front of the Apple store where the consumers are waiting to get in the store at 10:00. The first 4500 visitors will receive a free T-shirt.
