McDonald’s largest restaurant company in the Netherlands

Fast food chain McDonald’s continues to be the largest restaurant company in the Netherlands with a turnover of 558 million Euros, followed closely by the Van der Valk group with 518 million Euros.

Servex, operator of restaurants and retail formulas train stations, is in third place with a turnover of 324 million Euros. According to the annual ranking report Misset Horeca Top 100 published Thursday.

Every year the magazine polls the largest catering companies and ranks by turnover. This shows that the top 100 lost half billion in revenue last year, or more than 8%.

The total turnover of these companies is 5.27 billion Euros. Last year Misset Horeca calculated 5.74 billion Euros in total turnover.

Especially the hotel industry suffered last year. Hotels in the top 100 saw their sales fall by an average of 11.3%. For 2010 the hotel industry expect recovery again. Many companies think after sales declines greater than 20 percent, to make just above the zero line this year.
