Dutch spend more money on holiday

Dutch tourists dare to book vacations early again. The crisis has faded into the background; last minute travel is on return.

This is reported by the Financieele Dagblad Saturday after a tour of the Dutch travel industry.

The travel industry expects a recovery this year. The industry was able to stop the downward trend in 2010 and expects a profit for 2011. The newspaper thinks this is partly due to the positive reports on the Dutch economy.

The biggest travel companies continue to promote the all-inclusive vacations to Turkey, with drinks and dinner are included in the total price, with room and tickets.

This concept is copied by Turkish entrepreneurs and was invented by Americans of vacations to the Caribbean. Due to the lack of reliable restaurants in American eyes turn to the hotels and other infrastructure as a total concept that by its relatively low prices became popular.

Dutch will also spend more on their holiday. This is evident from the holidays offered by Vacansoleil tour operator. The most luxurious rental tents, of 1200 euros each, were sold first.

There is a new word, according to the newspaper: “Glamping” glamorous camping.
