Netflix has ranked the Netherlands as the country with the fastest video-streaming times.
Netflix recently added November data to the “Netflix ISP Speed Index,” their monthly update on which Internet Service Providers (ISPs) provide the best Netflix streaming experience. With this update, they also added the Netherlands to their rankings.
Netflix launched in the Netherlands three months ago and have always known that the Dutch have great broadband. That’s now confirmed by the Netflix ISP Speed Index: with a country average of 3.16Mbps the Netherlands takes a firm lead compared to the other nations in the index. No other country crosses 3Mpbs, but runners up Sweden and Denmark come close with 2.83Mpbs and 2.8Mpbs, respectively.
Looking at the bottom rankings, Mexico ranks last, just below Ireland and the US.
The Netflix ISP Speed Index is based on data from the more than 40 million Netflix members who view over 1 billion hours of TV shows and movies streaming from Netflix each month. The listed speeds reflect the average performance of all Netflix streams on each ISP’s network and are an indicator of the performance typically experienced across all users on an ISP network. A faster network generally means a better picture quality, quicker start times and fewer interruptions.
