Q8 to open its European headquarters in The Netherlands

Kuwait Petroleum International will soon open its new European headquarters in The Hague, the Netherlands. The state oil company of Kuwait – parent company of Q8 – will be renting 1,716sqm of office space in the city center. Initially, the office will be home to some 40 international employees.

KPI has control of the third largest oil reserve in the world and has refineries in Holland (Rotterdam) and Italy. With approximately 200 petrol stations in Holland Q8 has a local market share of around seven per cent.

The local city council is very pleased with the location of Q8’s European headquarters in The Hague. Alderman for economic affairs Henk Kool comments: “We are delighted with this oil giant’s choice in favor of The Hague. The arrival of Q8 means a strengthening of the existing energy cluster in our region. But it also confirms the attractiveness of The Hague as a location for international headquarters. We make a case for the location of these types of headquarters in particular, as they create new employment. And at the end of the day we all profit from that.”

The NFIA (Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency) offices in The Hague and Dubai assisted KPI in its location study and decision making process, working closely with its regional partners the City of The Hague and the WFIA (WestHolland Foreign Investment Agency).
