Rotterdam Museum Night celebrates its 10th anniversary

The Rotterdam Museum Night celebrates its 10th anniversary on Saturday 5 March 2011.

Saturday 5 March 2010, 20.00 – 02.00 hrs 46 museums, art galleries and other institutions across Rotterdam.

This is Rotterdam’s most inspiring night of the year: featuring art, culture, performances, music and more. Be overwhelmed by the festive and surprising range of activities both outdoors as well as indoors at the 46 museums and art galleries until the small hours of the night.

In the Museumpark at the Kunsthal and the Museum of Natural History, Ernest van der Kwast will blow out the 10 candles on the birthday cake at 19.45 hrs. Edwin van der Heide and the artists of Vagalume Light Procession will then light up the Museum Night. Start your tour here along all the attractions of the various museums and art galleries. A wide range of unique programmes are organised not only in the city centre but across Rotterdam. Discover the beauty of science in Museum Boijmans and listen to Herman Brusselmans in de Central Library. Build your own musical instrument in the Museum of Rotterdam and predict your future in Villa Zebra. From electric sparks in V2 to cuddly hormones in the Museum of Natural History. And from sculpture trails through Rotterdam by night to smuggled goods in the Museum Night buses. No matter where you are: there will be surprises for you to enjoy.

Ticket Sales
A button with a flashing light serves as your entry pass to all the activities of the Rotterdam Museum Night. With this button you have access to all the locations taking part in this annual event and you will enjoy free public transport on the Museum night bus and the Museum night boat to get to all the different locations. Buy your button beforehand and it will cost you €13.50 whereas on the night itself it is €17.50. There are special discounts if you have a CJP pass or a Rotterdam pass. A children’s button is available again this year for children under the age of 12 (at €7.50).
