Seven million for speaking Dutch at work

Dutch Integration Minister Eimert van Middelkoop claims to make about 7 million euros available this year for Dutch companies to help to teach proper Dutch to their foreign employees. Until October 31 employers can apply for the funding.

They can qualify by setting up a classroom in the workplace, the use or purchase of class computers and providing space for the employee to learn the language during working hours.

The contribution is EUR 1000 per participant, with a maximum of 25,000 euros per employer, said the minister on Monday.
