Thank you Milan, what a place to do the first introduction! Next: Amsterdam,  designSALON/

With Milan’s Ventura Lambrate exhibition still fresh in our minds The Dutch Standard will be showing their seating concept MOON to the Dutch public in Amsterdam during the designSALON/ exhibition. Milan’s visitors proved to be the eager to taste this latest entry in the Dutch Design Community. With light sculpture GICE radiating from the ceiling the contrast could not have been more striking: GICE’s high gloss Macassar Ebony shell and green illuminating ribs against the rough concrete and white plastered walls drew the attention of nearly every visitor and international press.

GICE appeared to be the kind of sculpture that demands an opinion from its spectators. Its geometrical shape and reflecting smiles made GICE the perfect introduction of The Dutch Standard’s MOON. The seating concept MOON, based on the same geometrics as GICE appealed to the public as being a designer’s piece refined like jewellery. The cognac Hulshof leather combined with the brown Macassar Ebony and polished metal details made this piece unlike any other Dutch piece shown before. The ‘Do not touch’ sign on MOON’s pedestal was not ignored, but emotions caused thousands of hands to follow MOON’s shape, soft leather and polished metal details…

The Dutch Standard did what was expected of them: make that unforgettable impression in Milan!

Come and see MOON for yourselves at gallery Fontana Fortuna (d’Bruynvis) in Amsterdam amongst other leading Dutch Design as shown in Milan.
